'Fascinating science about self insight ... Buy a copy for yourself and buy another to leave, anonymously, on your boss's desk.' Chip Heath, bestselling co-author of Switch and Decisive

Do you understand who you really are? Or how others really see you? We all know people with a stunning lack of self-awareness – but how often do we consider whether we might have the same problem?

Research shows that self-awareness is the meta-skill of the 21st century – the foundation for high performance, smart choices, and lasting relationships. Unfortunately, we are remarkably poor judges of ourselves and how we come across, and it’s rare to get candid, objective feedback from colleagues, employees, and even friends and family.

Integrating hundreds of studies with her own research and work in the Fortune 500 world, organizational psychologist Dr Tasha Eurich shatters conventional assumptions about what it takes to truly know ourselves – like why introspection isn’t a bullet train to insight, how experience is the enemy of self-knowledge, and just how far others will go to avoid telling us the truth about ourselves. Through stories of people who’ve made dramatic self-awareness gains, she offers surprising secrets, techniques and strategies to help readers do the same – and therefore improve their work performance, career satisfaction, leadership potential, relationships, and more.

At a time when self-awareness matters more than ever, Insight is the essential playbook for surviving and thriving in an unaware world.

Insightful, penetrating, humane, and holistic in her approach..... [her] advice-that we should challenge our own beliefs about who we are, and enlist others to do the same-she knows is hard. But it's the hard things that are worth doing, that will lead to sustainable success in individuals, organizations, even nations. Insight shows us how (800 CEO Read)

Enjoying this - quite helpful, and I like her voice on the page.

I found this book to be really helpful -- the author provides persuasive, counterintuitive arguments to explain why sometimes the common sense advice about self-awareness isn't actually what will help us understand better who we are and how others see us. The quizzes and exercises were useful in putting her advice into action. I feel like I've learned a lot!

I very much enjoyed this book. It's easy to read, entertaining and provides what I found to be a new way to look at understanding yourself better. The book includes some helpful annexes with additional questions to ask yourself, if you're compelled by that specific topic.I thought it was particularly interesting how the author explains the difference between self awareness and self-confidence, as well as the difference between internal and external awareness.I've already bought the book for friends and recommended it to others. A thoroughly enjoyable and useful read!

Another American self help book that streams a series of historical figures and events and attempts to make a link with self awareness. By page 17 the author invites you to get a workbook from the books website. It offers a short PDF workbook for $19. Says it all.
